The game is beautiful, and thats probably the only reason I keep playing it even though it frustrates me quite a bit. The basics are simple and well explained - feed your fish, keep your main fish (your BuddyFish) happy, and sell fish. You get to decorate your tank - and I really enjoy this part! The 10-year-old in me, who used to rearrange her room every two weeks, is absolutely thrilled. But... - Most of the missions require you to purchase dumb stuff from the store... wasting your money. Yes, you can resell it and get some money back, but its annoying - especially when your 10th mission requires you to re-buy a stupid item you had to buy in your first mission that you already sold because you didnt like it. There should be less missions that make you buy stuff. - The games that you can play with your BuddyFish (Stewart Says and Bumper Fish) are fun enough, but they arent explained at all... And once you get past the first or second levels, its really unclear what youre supposed to do to higher points/stars. The rules of the games should really be explained. (For example, Bumper Fish level 11 takes you to a new style of the game... Is the point to catch all the clocks? Do you lose points by bouncing around the pinball barriers? How the heck do you get stars?) Ive only had Touch Fish crash on me a few times - but once was after I had bought stuff and rearranged my tank, and it was all lost. So that was annoying. But otherwise not usually bad. A review I read online about the game said its great to leave open and watch your tank throughout the day. I tried this for an hour or two on my desk. It is beautiful, and I do love watching the fish.... but it GOBBLES up your battery. Also, the default view mode pans around and looks at various things in your tank. Sometimes I like it, but usually I wish I could just see the static tank and the fish swimming around in it. If I wanted to see something up close, I would zoom in. Overall, its an average game. Reminds me of the Dragonvale game my BF used to play, insofar as maintaining your flock of characters and whatnot. Its fun... But not quite fun enough for me to actually recommend to other people. Right now, its really only good for (younger) kids who can learn about fish and whatnot.
